| WHO SHOULD PARTICIPATE | The evalue8 Committee (a subset of VBCH employers using the eValue8 RFI tool) has been working for two years to promote and participate in our eValue8 tool and invites ALL employer members and non-members to join in this call. eValue8 is a common request for information (RFI) that employers use to examine and compare the performance of more than 250 health plans nationwide. Written in the form of an extensive survey questionnaire, eValue8 allows employers and coalitions to customize the scoring and weight the different aspects of health plan performance so that they can compare and contrast one plan against others. Since it is designed to ask the right questions of health plans, eValue8 requires health plans to provide evidence about the cost and quality of care they deliver to health plan members. The Virginia Business Coalition on Health has participated in and has the results from the 2006 RFI. They are currently involved in the 5-month 2007 RFI process to be completed in May 2007. Clearly, since eValue8 is a powerful tool that is helping to change the way health care is delivered, we would like to have more of our members and stakeholders aware of eValue8 and what it can do in the Virginia market as a Value-based Purchaser Initiative. |
Mr. White has over thirty years of experience in health care in three sectors: for profit consulting, nonprofit hospital management, coalition management, and government. Prior to this current position, Dennis was for 15 years the Executive Director of the South Central Michigan Health Alliance which he helped create. Dennis has a Master's Degree in Management from the Sloan School of Management at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology where he was a Sloan Fellow. Prior to that, he received a Master's degree in Mathematics from the University of Michigan and received his Bachelor's Degree from Harvard University.
